Wood Carving Course - Intermediate (2)

Join local artisan Steve Hunter, an experienced wood carver since 1998, who has mastered the art using just one carving knife. 

Designed for intermediate carvers aged 16 and above who have some experience or have taken his previous 101 class. This 6-hour course spread over three evenings introduces you to additional techniques are styles within the timeless craft of wood carving. Whether you’re fairly new to carving or have tried it before but found it challenging, this class is perfect for you! 

Registration in this three week course includes everything necessary for the class, and features a high quality beginner carving kit to take home—the same type of knife Steve uses in his work!

  • No different from the October Intermediate (1) course, but students are welcome to enroll in both if they wish
    • The project for this course will be carving a Santa Claus ornament
  • Three 2-hour Tuesday evening classes 
  • Ages 16+
  • All supplies provided, including necessary saftey items
  • Additional optional tools available for purchase
    • If students already have the following tools and wish to bring them, select this option when prompted during registration and $45 will be deducted from the price of the class
      • 1 - #8 x 3/8 Palm Gouge
      • 1 - 70deg x 3/8" palm V-tool
      • 1 - shaped strop for the above tools
